What to do…

In the event of an Expected Death

If the death is expected, and occurs at home, you will need to contact the family doctor (or Shropdoc- if out of hours).

Once a doctor (or medical practitioner) has attended, please contact us and we will be able to provide guidance and support and will, when you are ready, despatch our private ambulance to accept the person that has died into our care.

If the death occurs in a hospital, hospice, or care home, the duty manager will contact the doctor and next of kin. They will then contact us accordingly.

The doctor will normally issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death together with an advice notice which informs you of how to register the death.

For more information please visit our page on Registering a Death.
